In Conquer Your Own Mountain, Andrés Pérez and his son Andy recount their extraordinary experience of climbing Everest in 2023, becoming the first Latin American rope team to achieve this feat. This accomplishment is the result of four years of rigorous training, during which they climbed various mountains in different countries to prepare themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. The expedition was not without challenges, including health issues and extreme conditions. However, their perseverance and determination allowed them to reach the summit and face additional adversities on the descent, where Andy even saved the life of a mountaineer in danger. This adventure not only strengthened their father-son bond but also left them with valuable lessons about the importance of the journey and resilience, demonstrating that true success lies in solidarity, empowerment through leadership, and reciprocity.
