The assimilation of scientific information to understand Earth's functioning, the promotion of environmental awareness, and genuine actions to reduce human-induced environmental impact are fundamental elements for the intelligent and sustainable management of societies. Underestimating and postponing this task increases social, political, and economic vulnerability to the adaptive changes of the Earth System being induced by human activities and their significant environmental impacts. One such impact is the amplification of climate change. This Technical Note aims to briefly address the scientific basis of this alteration.
